FAQ

HOW DO I JOIN YRCC?

HOW FAR AND HOW FAST DO YOU RIDE?

We welcome new riders to join us as a guest for up to three rides. After that, you can join via York Rouleurs on British Cycling

The cost of Annual Membership is £15 plus a £1 admin fee to British Cycling. Please purchase through the British Cycling membership tool.

Our standard club runs are around 40 miles in length, at an average speed of between 15-18mph. We conclude our rides with a coffee stop at a local cafe. We also offer weekly 60 mile rides, occasional longer 'adventure' rides and international trips.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

As with any ride, make sure you carry the essentials, including a couple of inner tubes, tyre levers, a mini pump, a multi-tool and money for the cafe stop. Dress for the conditions and make sure you have enough food and liquid to see you through the ride.

A helmet must be worn in order to ride with the club.

WHAT IF I’VE NEVER RIDDEN IN A GROUP BEFORE?

You can read our Club Constitution and Ride Etiqutte, but the best thing to do is just come along and learn from how other people ride.

We have monthly social evenings at The Waggon and Horses, online talks from members about their recent adventures or achievements as well as regular fund raising events for our nominated charities including a summer BBQ and Christmas event.
